Hepatocyte Specific Antigen (HSA), also known as Hep Par-1 or liver-enriched transcription factor, is a mitochondrially localized protein uniquely expressed in hepatocytes that serves as a highly specific immunohistochemical marker for liver-derived tissues and hepatocellular carcinomas, playing critical roles in hepatic differentiation, metabolic regulation, and maintaining liver-specific functions through its involvement in mitochondrial energy metabolism and urea cycle processes.

IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded human hepatocellular carcinoma. Anti-Hepatocyte specific antigen antibody was used at 1/2000 dilution, followed by a HRP Polymer for Mouse & Rabbit IgG (ready to use). Counterstained with hematoxylin. Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris/EDTA buffer pH9.0 was performed before commencing with IHC staining protocol.
Negative control: IHC shows negative staining in paraffin-embedded human cervical cancer. Anti-Hepatocyte specific antigen antibody was used at 1/2000 dilution, followed by a HRP Polymer for Mouse & Rabbit IgG (ready to use). Counterstained with hematoxylin. Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris/EDTA buffer pH9.0 was performed before commencing with IHC staining protocol.
